Aromas Community Center Foundation Board “Burned Out” as Questions Swirl Over Missing Funds

Aromas, CA – The leadership of the Aromas Community Center Foundation (ACCF) appears to be crumbling, as reports emerge of board members feeling “burned out” and ready to walk away. After years of financial struggles, poorly attended events, and a dwindling donor base, some board members seem to have had enough. ACCF President Rose Dumond announced her resignation from her position in October of 2024 but has yet to step down.

But as the board members eye the exits, one major question remains: what happened to all the money?

Over the years, ACCF has received tens of thousands of dollars from local business donations, not to mention a $250,000 grant that was awarded just a few years ago. Yet, the foundation continues to claim financial hardship, implementing exorbitant fees on local organizations and individuals using the park.

Where Did the Money Go?

One of the biggest mysteries surrounds the large carport-style structure that was supposedly built to generate rental income. Intended to serve as a community event space, the canopy was meant to be a revenue-generating asset for the park. However, local residents have yet to see it being used for any major events, leaving many wondering if this was where the funds disappeared.

“How do you blow through $250,000 in a few years and still have no money?” questioned one concerned community member. “Where are the financial records? Where is the accountability?”

Lack of Community Support—or Lack of Leadership?

While the ACCF board blames a lack of community support and declining donations for its struggles, some locals argue that mismanagement is the real issue. “You can’t just keep asking the community for more money when there’s no transparency on how it’s spent,” said another resident.

With board members apparently losing interest and motivation, the fate of the Aromas Community Park remains uncertain. Will the park survive the apparent financial mismanagement, or will it be left in disarray as leadership walks away?

What’s Next?

As the board appears ready to throw in the towel, the community may soon be left to pick up the pieces. The question now is whether residents will step in to demand financial accountability—or if the park will continue its downward spiral under fading leadership.

For now, one thing is clear: the community deserves answers.
